SUBATOMIC PARTICLES

SUBATOMIC PARTICLES

SCIENCE:

The air, the mountains, animals, plants, your body, and everything else from the very tiny to the biggest things that you can see are made of atoms. The building blocks of matter, the atoms, are much smaller, that cannot be seen through advanced microscopes. An atom is a million times smaller than the thickest human hair. The diameter of an atom ranges from about 0.1 to 0.5 nanometers. What do you think can be found inside such a small structure? Although it's much tiny, there's an entire complex system inside this amazing structure. Inside every atom, there is a nucleus at the center consisting of protons and neutrons, and there are electrons revolving around the nucleus at particle distances. This discovery of subatomic particles happened only in the last century.

ISLAM:

It is mentioned in Surah Saba, Ayah 3:

[34:3] But those who disbelieve say, "The Hour will not come to us." Say, "Yes, by my Lord, it will surely come to you. [Allah is] the Knower of the unseen." Not absent from Him is an atom's weight within the heavens or within the earth or [what is] smaller than that or greater, except that it is in a clear register

In this verse, Allah is pointing out the fact that there are even smaller particles than ‘Dharrah’ (atom).

You may wonder how fast the electrons are racing around in the atoms around you. A calculation shows that the electron is traveling about 2,200 kilometers per second. That's less than 1% of the speed of light, but it is fast enough to get you around the earth in just over 18 seconds. In fact, this speed is unimaginable on an atomic scale, and still, there's no chaos or instability in this tiny structure. Such is the perfection in the creation of Allah.
