SCIENCE:

Professor Keith L. Moore said, “I don’t know whether the initial stages of the embryo look like a leech or not.” So he went into his laboratory, and under a very powerful microscope, observed the initial stage of the embryo, and compared it with a photograph of a leech. And he was astonished by the striking resemblance.

ISLAM:

The Qur'an says in Surah Al-Qiyamah, Verse 38 and Surah Al-'Alaq, Chapter 96, Verse 2:

[75:38] Then he was a clinging clot, and [Allah] created [his form] and proportioned [him].

ثُمَّ كَانَ عَلَقَةٗ فَخَلَقَ فَسَوَّىٰ

​

[96:2] Created man from a clinging substance.

خَلَقَ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ مِنْ عَلَقٍ 

​

The clinging substance here refers to the embryo, which is shaped like a leech and clings like a leech.
