SCIENCE:

The early humans used to believe that the Earth was flat. In 1577, Sir Francis Drake proved that the Earth is in fact, spherical in shape, when he sailed around the Earth. Modern science proves that the Earth is not completely spherical like a ball rather it is geo-spherical in shape, flattened at the poles and bulging from the center. 

ISLAM:

In Surah An-Nazi'at, Ayah 30, it is mentioned:

[79:30] He made the earth egg-shaped.
وَٱلْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ دَحَىٰهَآ 

The word ‘Dahaahaa’ [Arabic: دَحَىٰهَآ] refers to an ostrich egg and not any normal egg. Upon observation, it is noted that the ostrich egg is also geo-spherical. 
The Qur’an mentioned 1400 years ago, specifically, that the Earth is ‘geo-spherical’ and not just spherical.
